Summer time fun with outdoor activities

I have always had a fondness for the outdoors adventures. During the summer break season, I have been recently reminded of camping and various other outdoor activities that caused me to reminisce about those days. Setting up tents, making camp fire pits, all those things that come with the outdoor life. At the time I was so busy I never realized how much work went into it. I do have to admit one thing. At my age I do not like the idea of sleeping on the ground any longer LOL. It is funny how we always try to make it as comfortable as it was when we are at home, lol. I think we finally just decide we need to just stay home. I still love the outdoors at home with fire pits etc. however I love my bed. So I believe I have found the best of both worlds with my current arrangement, lol. You can play corn hole, swim if you have a pool. Tons of outdoor activities, the list goes on and on. I love the fire pit. It can be in all sorts of configurations, from the basic to the most elaborate thing you can imagine. I love to cook over outdoor fires. The taste is just so different and to me better! I have used all types of cookware but by far the best for outdoor use to me has to be cast iron hands down. I love cast iron period. I use it outdoors and in. LOL. I use this brand a lot and love their cookware. It is the most versatile and longest lasting cookware I have ever purchased. I have the Dutch oven as well and love just to experiment with all types of cooking of all types of dishes. I loved watching all the various TV shows that used various cast iron cookware to make the most delicious looking meals I have ever seen. Not only that, but I would try to recreate what they cooked, and it would taste the best I have ever eaten. Then afterward you could bring the little ones closer to the fire at last and make smores that would hype them up on a sugar rush and hopefully would allow them to burn off all that energy, and they would eventually crash and sleep like logs. After the first time, you learned to start dinner early so you can get them in bed at a decent hour.

It is time for the school year to start back up and that means that summer is coming to a close, but the fun outdoors does not have to. The cooking and just sitting around a campfire can go on year round if the weather permits.
